The Church’s decline is not a container problem but an alignment problem. It has functioned like a train running on one track, relying primarily on a centralized, modalic “come and see” model, while neglecting the sodalic, pioneering advance needed to reach an unchurched culture. Simply shifting from macro to micro does not change the substance; new forms without renewed gospel substance will not create movement. What’s needed is an integrated apostolic ecology, centralized clarity with decentralized multiplication, where pioneers and settlers, hubs and networks, work together so the Church can move with power and coherence into the city.
